Camara-e.net signs the Manifesto of the Digital Economy in Latin America at the Latin American Meeting of entities representing the sector
The Brazilian Chamber of Digital Economy will be present at the second edition of the Latin American Digital Economy Meeting, which will take place from October 19 to 21 in a hybrid way: online and in person, in Montevideo (Uruguay). Leonardo Palhares, president of camara-e.net, will participate in the chamber meeting; and Igor Luna, will speak on two panels.
Parallel to the event, on October 18, the digital economy chambers of Latin American countries, including Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Brazil, represented by camara-e.net, will meet to discuss the formation of a regional alliance and propose a development plan of the digital economy in the bloc.
During the meeting, the Latin American Internet Association (ALAI) will present the Manifesto of the Digital Economy, a document co-signed by camara-e.net, among other entities representing the sector of Latin American countries, in the form of a public declaration of the principles and intentions of the industry and the private sector, in defense innovation and development of new services and technologies to establish a strategic vision of the future that will serve as an engine for Latin America.
From a position of co-responsibility, commitment and cooperation, the document contributes to the consolidation of a political agenda that will be fundamental for the integration of this region in the world, offering more opportunities and inclusion for its inhabitants.

Igor Luna will represent camara-e.net at the panel where the Manifesto and the Chamber’s International Agenda will be presented, on October 19 at 4 p.m. Also participating in the panel: Raúl Echeberría, executive director of ALAI; Maria Fernanda Quiñones, Executive President of the Colombian Chamber of Electronic Commerce (CCCE); Jaime Dupuy (COMEX); and Guillermo Varela, president of CEDU.
On October 20 at 9:30 a.m., Luna will participate in the panel Electronic commerce and economic growth. In recent years, the number of electronic transactions has increased manifold. According to Americas Market Intelligence (AMI), online retail in Latin America has reached a 15% share of the total retail market, up from 6% before the pandemic, with annual volume growth forecast at 25%. markets in the region between 2021 and 2025.
