Geek+ opens new UK headquarters with robotics innovation hub
Having just entered the European market in 2019, Geek+ has successfully implemented projects in more than 30 countries, including more than a dozen in the UK alone, with major retailers, e-commerce service providers and third-party logistics operators. Warrington joins Düsseldorf, San Diego, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and Singapore as hosts of the regional Geek+ headquarters.
Brian Lee, Head of Europe and UK at Geek+, said: “This is an important day in the development of Geek+. The UK is home to some of our most exciting projects, including large-scale automated order sorting and robotic deployment of goods to people across multiple locations. Logistics operators here, and retailers in particular, recognize the revolutionary value that autonomous mobile robots (AMR) bring and are eager to improve their operations. We are pleased to have a full office here serving our clients. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our new home in the UK.”
Sci-Tech Daresbury Business Park is the ideal setting for Geek+, with the company joining some of the UK’s most exciting and innovative companies. At least 30 Geek+ employees (known internally as “Geekers”) will remain at the new headquarters.
Simon Houghton, Head of Sales and Marketing for Geek+, said: “I’ve been on this journey with Geek+ for three years and have seen exciting projects across the country. This office and its demo center gives us a central hub where we can show people what we do and how our AMRs can take their business to the next level.”
Open to all visitors, the demo center is the centerpiece of the new office and includes a selection of Geek+ AMRs. Robots showing off their skills are the P-800 master order picking robot best suited to connecting inventory with warehouse workers; the award-winning RoboShuttle, which enables high-density storage solutions; and the S-20C, a sorting robot capable of connecting different elements of a production or distribution line.
Sci-Tech Daresbury now has another world-leading company as part of the community. The Geek+ UK team looks forward to welcoming everyone who comes to see the innovations that will move UK logistics towards a safer, brighter and more efficient future.
