This is because the game adopts a new proposition: the free model s cross game between platforms. Co-op content is slated for 2023, but there’s still no set date. Overwatch 2 will be available on all platforms that received the first game, such as PlayStation 5 (PS5), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, via See below for more details on the game.

The two main new features of Overwatch 2, cooperative PvE (Player vs. Environment) missions and searches that delving into character backstories won’t be present when the game arrives in early October. For now, players will only get the traditional Overwatch PvP experience with new content such as three more heroes, new maps, and additional modes. Scheduled for an as-yet-undefined date in 2023, the mod will pit Overwatch heroes like Winston, Mei, Tracer, among others, against an army of enemy robots, the Omnics.

The main difference in Overwatch 2 is that teams will now be made up of 5 members instead of 6. This structure will only allow 1 tank per team, focused on defense, with 2 characters focused on damage and 2 on support. Because of this, many heroes had changes, such as Orisa, Winston, and Doomfist, to better fulfill their new roles on the team. Another big innovation is that it will have a progression system, through which you will be able to improve your skills by playing cooperative missions.

Overwatch 2 brings changes to existing heroes with a skill progression system and more.

Among the new characters are Sojourn, a great strategist and skilled shooter, the long-awaited Junker Queen, who will enter the role of Tank, and the character Kiriko, who arrives in the first season in the Support category. Among the already confirmed maps, users will find locations such as Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, Rome, Monte Carlo and New York. Traditional modes such as Assault, Control and Escort are back, but the focus is on a new mode, Push, where players will try to secure control of the robot and take it to the enemy base.

Under the new free-to-play model, Overwatch 2 will have Battle Pass seasons. The feature will offer free and paid options where users will be able to earn 80 levels of rewards for their characters, with the ability to even unlock new heroes and maps. As for the second option, the game’s producers have mentioned that it will be in a free-to-play pass model.

It’s also worth mentioning that users who bought the first Overwatch will be able to take advantage of a package called the “Founder’s Pack”, which contains cosmetic items as a bonus, until December 5th. Among them General Doomfist and Jester Sombra skins.
