NVIDIA looks after the development of society

NVIDIA, through its CEO Jensen Huang, announced several resources that will help successfully use computing for the evolution of our modern society. With technology that will surpass anything we currently know, it intends to increase the speed of processing and the use of the cloud to create a true digital landscape where we will visualize the next step for our future.

The company’s idea is simple: use the Omniverse to unite the entire three-dimensional environment with our reality, making both work together to grow and use both scenarios. For this, servers and Metaverse will be the main elements that will work and pave the way forward from now on.

Omniverse for NVIDIA

Now available, Omniverse is NVIDIA’s tool that will allow us to integrate our entire physical environment into the digital world. Not just to have 3D mannequins that clumsily walk around, but for tangible use in our reality and to help professionals around the world more easily achieve their goals in high-performance processing.

The plan is to unite design, production, game and application development, healthcare, trade, transport, telecommunications and various segments in one place. Focused on their servers, the public will have a wealth of tools at their disposal to boost their business and make everything even faster and more efficient in the modern world.

According to NVIDIA, we currently have 3.5 million developers and 12,000 start-ups working on it, as well as 3,000 running apps. The plan is to expand it even further and create the adhesion of several others to your platform. And to demonstrate the plan in action, they put together several examples in their presentation to visualize that the future is already among us.

There are tons of tools available in Omniverse

Using technology in today’s world

To show the whole process in action, the uses of Omniverse are shown in some companies that have already joined the scenario. For example, Siemens itself has recently partnered with JT Connections, which is responsible for using Metaverse to centralize the design, engineering, manufacturing and manufacturing process worldwide and run accurate simulations even before the first part is created.

The telco has already joined in, applying all 5G speed tests globally: inside the digital environment. Assembling the entire structure in the real world is her next step, as technology has helped with the overall process of checking and correcting errors that could have compromised the entire operation.

Meanwhile, NVIDIA also showed that DNEG uses several different tools to create its studio animations, just as Deutsche Bahn can monitor all the performance of its trains and tracks in real time, helping to improve service and prevent traffic accidents among several other functions.

The improvement of technology is essential for our development

They plan to use infrastructure as a service through the Omniverse Cloud. By subscribing to their service, you will have access to all of this and many additional resources that they will implement over time to unify the technological activities of our planet. From robotics, artificial intelligence to image generation, everyone will have space to create and with the maximum possible performance.

All of this will be centered on the company’s new GPU architecture: Ada Lovelace. As a tribute to the legendary programmer, the new equipment allows a combination of artificial intelligence, real-time rendering and simulation to create and verify several different scenarios that can be used in everyday life. Also known as the RTX 6000, it will be largely responsible for improving all of the above factors.

With 48 GB of memory and neural graphics, NVIDIA wants to usher in a new era for everyone in the next 10 years. It features state-of-the-art RT cores, fourth-generation tensor cores, CUDA cores that double bandwidth and increase accuracy, virtualization, and XR performance, enabling multiple concurrent actions via streaming. It will have global distribution from December 2022.

Meet Ada Lovelace

How will this work in games?

The RTX 4090 Ti, featuring Ada technology, will enable even better performance in the gaming world. During a video with the company’s CEO, we were able to see games like The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Portal running as if they were similar to titles from past generations. This is thanks to twice the processing speed and Ray Tracing lighting, which achieves up to 4x more than current cards. Even Valve will be re-releasing their famous game remastered for the new board.

In addition, the new state of DLSS 3 was shown, which brings even more light and color to established games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Microsoft’s Flight Simulator. We are talking, of course, about games that have been on the market for a long time. Can you imagine when this technology falls into the hands of developers to build on their next? The leap of this, coupled with what we already know from Epic Games Unreal Engine 5, can be absurd.

In the US, NVIDIA will charge $1,599 for the RTX 4090 Ti when it launches on October 12, 2022. The RTX 4080 comes in at a more affordable $899. None of them have an exact arrival date in Brazil yet.

Artificial intelligence as our assistant

In addition to all these novelties, Thor was also revealed: the ultimate information processing for artificial intelligence that can generate more depth for deep learning mechanics. With the power of 2000 TOPS and 2000 TFLOPS, it will be essential that all of this can help us to quickly execute functions that have a very long delay and require a higher speed to enter according to our generation.

Just to give you an idea, NVIDIA Drive uses an advanced level of this technology. With it, driving a car through AI becomes even better with the availability of tools that work simultaneously with driving. In other words, the means of transport will have a performance much closer to a human being: checking the surrounding environment, unfavorable situations and adjusting everything in real time.

The feature adapts a 3D recreation of the map within a virtual scenario that allows the vehicle to handle various changes in traffic scenarios for greater driver safety. The demo revealed several ways this can be used and is surprising in its potential. At various times the mastery behind the wheel is visible and I believe that it should not take long for it to become a part of our daily life. This will become the future of the car – two computers inside it with ORIN technology and using Thor.

In the future, driving will be safer and more interactive

Among other demonstrations, we can see robots with different functions: from basic handling used in factories to delivery and agricultural markets using the Jetson Orin NANO. We have the ISAAC platform that will connect the entire ecosystem connected to robots to increase the performance of hundreds of machines simultaneously and is available in the cloud. It offers simulation, mapping and training in a segment that will enable different applications.

In medicine, for example, NVIDIA plans to adapt all this to help the evolution of current equipment and simplify saving lives. With machines working together where humans cannot, saving more people will be a possibility that can and should be used. Although there are many skeptics, I don’t think anyone would complain that the problem is solved by a machine and that it doesn’t take bigger risks.

Not to mention BioNemo, which will play a very important role in uncovering the greatest mysteries of the human body. This will, for example, help map our DNA, as well as improve the work of scientists in the development of drugs and treatments. Do you remember those movies where society has a cure for everything and we live without physical ailments? This will help us get closer to this reality.

The TERRA platform will help scientists work with BioNem

NVIDIA’s triad

The strategy used by the company will be to combine three main elements to offer all this: RTX computers, the OVX system and the speed of online GDN servers. Added to the power of the cloud and the sign of Ada Lovelace, we have left the field of “tests” and can finally get our hands dirty to define our future.

Using extremely fast computers and helping the evolution of our society, in all its aspects. Jensen Huang stated that there is much more that will be shown soon, but it is all very close to us now. What is not available will be expanded by the end of this year, for example. That’s because I didn’t even mention CV-CUDA – an open source program to speed up the processing process up to 10 times, and the free H100, which reduces the use and cost of several servers to take up less space.

With a promise to embrace the future, NVIDIA now has a lot of work to do: convince companies to stick with its services and show that its quality is not just lip service. Of course, we know their performance, but we are in a new phase and, if done right, it could represent the next step in our technological evolution. And we are watching it happen live.
